The Virginian-Pilot, the state’s largest daily newspaper, now has the same owner as the Daily Press.
Chicago-based Tronc Inc., parent company of the Daily Press Media Group, announced Tuesday it purchased The Virginian-Pilot Media Companies LLC for $34 million in cash from Norfolk-based Landmark Media Enterprises. The sale is effective immediately and includes all of The Virginian-Pilot’s publications and properties.
